UBE2T (Ubiquitin Conjugating Enzyme E2 T) is a protein coding gene located on human chromosome 1q32.1. UBE2T is also known as FANCT, PIG50 and HSPC150. The human UBE2T gene encodes a 22521 Da protein containing 197 amino acids. The UBE2T protein is broadly expressed in testis, bone marrow and other tissues. Among its related pathways are Gastric Cancer Network 2 and Metabolism of proteins. UBE2T is related to chromatin binding and ubiquitin-protein transferase activity. UBE2N is an important paralog of UBE2T gene. UBE2T is associated with some diseases, including Fanconi Anemia, Complementation Group T and Fanconi Anemia, Complementation Group A.

      Ube2T is the E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme of the Fanconi anemia DNA repair pathway and it is overexpressed in several cancers, representing an attractive target for the development of inhibitors. Notably, UBE2T locates at 1q32.1, and the gain of 1q is frequently observed in a variety of cancers. For instance, UBE2T serves an important role in the growth of bladder cancer cells, and may be considered as a potential biomarker and therapeutic target for bladder cancer.
