Arp8 Information: Arp8 Protein, Arp8 Antibody and Arp8 Gene

Arp8 Gene family

Arp8 Protein

Arp8 protein function

Plays an important role in the functional organization of mitotic chromosomes. Exhibits low basal ATPase activity, and unable to polymerize.; Proposed core component of the chromatin remodeling INO80 complex which is involved in transcriptional regulation, DNA replication and probably DNA repair. Required for the recruitment of INO80 (and probably the INO80 complex) to sites of DNA damage. Strongly prefer nucleosomes and H3-H4 tetramers over H2A-H2B dimers, suggesting it may act as a nucleosome recognition module within the complex.

Arp8 Gene

ACTR8 cDNA / gene is a gene with protein product which located on 3p21.1. The ACTR8 gene is conserved in chimpanzee, dog, cow, mouse, rat, chicken, zebrafish, fruit fly, mosquito, S.cerevisiae, K.lactis, E.gossypii, S.pombe, M.oryzae, N.crassa, A.thaliana, rice, and frog. 245 organisms have orthologs with human gene ACTR8.
